Albert’s Didsbury to close for dramatic makeover on 2nd January
A new look and feel for the 2008-established neighbourhood restaurant
A new, bigger, stand-alone bar, party tables and outdoor area
£500K investment

Albert’s restaurant in West Didsbury is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a £500K refurbishment.

The well-established neighbourhood restaurant which serves fine, honest cuisine, is set to close from 2 January and reopen late March with a brand new and updated look and feel both inside and out.

The interior of the restaurant will be transformed by award-winning Manchester-based interior designers, Space Invader Design. A new colour scheme and interior style will create a more up to date, relaxed feel using a muted, earthy palette and utilising more greenery both inside and out the restaurant.

There’ll be entirely new furniture throughout the restaurant and bar, plus new artwork, lighting and styling.

Albert’s drinks offering and area is set to be transformed into a new destination bar for the neighbourhood. With a bigger bar; a whole new bar seating area; a more extensive local and craft beer selection; and an updated seasonal, signature cocktail collection, it will be a quality new addition to the Didsbury bar scene.

Guests will be able to book party tables at Albert’s Bar just to enjoy the fabulous new drinks, whilst a revamped bar menu will provide a social, grazing accompaniment to the party table experience if desired.

The terrace will also be refreshed to reveal a cleverly designed outdoor space ready for sunny afternoons in Didsbury – the community can expect a new suburban oasis on Barlow Moor Road.

The food menu at Albert’s will remain as consistent and high quality as ever, with the house signature dishes all staying put – from home-made Lancashire cheese and onion pie (still made to the same recipe that James’ mum uses in her own kitchen) and Albert’s fish and chips, to the Albert’s stone-baked pizza menu and Malayan chicken… all the classics will continue to be served up in Albert’s traditional warm and welcoming style.

The exact re-opening date will be announced soon. Do keep your eyes peeled here, as I’ll be covering this story into 2019.
