Artisan, the contemporary all day dining destination located in the heart of stylish Spinningfields Manchester, has introduced a refreshing summer menu. The lofty 12,000 square foot space has fire at its heart, with wood fired pizzas and steaks among some of the most popular choices on the varied menu.
I was lucky to review Artisan last year (see here for original review). The new menu will bring sunshine to the plate, with a range of light and bold flavours designed to perfectly suit summer dining. Prawns with roasted garlic, coriander, tomato, chilli and lemon is one of the many appetising starters on offer and inventive pizzas include BBQ chicken and chorizo with cipollini onions, mozzarella and tomato. Prosciutto and watermelon salad is a lighter option and the deli board is ideal to share with friends alongside a bottle of wine.
The Artisan menu sees a fusion of world flavours, such as a side of Asian slaw with peanut dressing and a main course of salt and pepper St. Louis belly pork rib.
Along with the new additions, all the usual Artisan favourites are still available, with rustic and flavoursome dishes including salmon en papillote with Thai red curry and vegetables as well as steaks and Artisan burgers served on a pretzel bun with fries.
Leaving room for dessert is a must (says she with the sweet tooth); lemon tart with berries and raspberry coulis is a zesty treat ideal for summer while chocolate meringue with banana, Chantilly cream and salted caramel is pure indulgence.
The summer season at Artisan also sees the introduction of an Express Lunch priced at £9.95 which includes two courses and a drink with a choice of a regular soft drink, 125ml glass of wine or half a draught beer.
The menu is flexible and can be served as two separate courses for diners with time to spare or the starter can be served as a side with the main for those in a hurry.
The Express Lunch is sure to appeal with a range of starters such as sesame seed falafel, crème fraiche and harrisa followed by main courses including classic Caesar salad with avocado and asparagus and mascarpone ravioli with sweet potato.
Have you been to Artisan? It’s a gorgeous space and a must-visit whenever I’m in town. To make a reservation, hop on over to their website now.
