I’m a big fan of Manchester’s foodie scene. It’s refreshingly innovative to see an eatery participate in cool markets, which is why I cannot wait for next weekend… when Artisan Restaurant & Bar launch their first ever monthly Market Fest.

That’s right, pencil into your diaries  Sunday 25th September, where the Market Fest will run from 12 – 5 pm.   The makers-market festival will highlight the creativity and casual cool of Artisan, whilst illustrating the versatility of the spacious restaurant, bar and private dining areas.

Purveyors of artisan goods will come together with a focus on hand-crafted items, food, drink and activities.  Visitors can also browse stylish children’s products, collectible vinyl, gifts and arts and crafts.  Tying in with the ethos of Artisan as a sociable and cultural place to eat, meet and drink, Market Fest will show off the creative talents of local independent businesses. Want to know the totally cool thing about all this? Stall spots are completely free, with all profits going directly to the traders.

Kids’ Corner will feature plenty of exciting activities including pizza-making and cupcake decorating, whilst a magician will be on hand to entertain guests of all ages, who can also enjoy face painting and board games!   Live music will add to the buzz from 2pm onwards and spirit masterclasses, Artisan cocktail showcases, prosecco vs. champagne, build your own Bloody Mary bar and blend your own Haig will add to the festival vibe. Don’t worry if selfies aren’t your thing – there will also be an in-situ photo booth to capture the fun.

Seven local artisanal traders are already confirmed exhibitors at the Market Fest, including Kula Gallery, Wonderhaus, Acorn and Pip, The Manchester Bee Company, Ink Inc Design and Vinyl Therapy ensuring there will be an eclectic selection of unique goods on offer.

A Sunday Roast and the usual rustic and nourishing Artisan menu will still be available for diners.   There will be 30% off your total food bill all day and tables can be booked via www.artisan.uk.com/marketfest.   Market Fest is sure to become one of the key dates in the Manchester calendar offering beats, eats and treats for all the family. See you there!
