24 hours after the world was rocked by the election of a bigly orange man-child, now is the time to focus on all things good. Plus, the up and coming holiday season is supposed to be about joy and peace. An event happening in the city later this month, strives to promote this message and to remind residents of Derby to make compassionate choices this Christmas.
Compassionate Derby is an ethical living fair that is free to attend and where everyone is welcome. It will be a showcase of healthy, environmentally friendly and cruelty-free food and lifestyle products. There will be lots of free samples, charity and campaigning stalls, a generous raffle and much more.
Currently in its sixth year of running, the 2016 festive charity fair is set to be the best yet. 40 plus stalls will be at the event at St. Peter’s Church, on Saturday 26th November, 10.30am to 4.30pm. There will be numerous caterers offering tasty treats suitable for every diet, as well as craft stalls with unique ethical handmade gifts.
David Otieno from the organising team said: “We are giving the people of Derby a chance to take a break from their Christmas shopping and find out more about living a compassionate lifestyle. As well as giving them an opportunity to buy the perfect guilt-free gifts of course.”
As well as all the delicious food on offer, there will also be a range of ethical organisations and charities there supporting environmental, human and animal rights issues. There will be a series of talks throughout the day, and there’ll be plenty of opportunities to learn, discuss and explore some new ideas in a friendly and welcoming environment.
