A Texas founded restaurant is gearing up to make its Derby debut.

Wingstop will be opening in Derby city centre in February 2026.

It will offer chicken wings, tenders, desserts and more from its location on Level 2 at Derbion shopping centre.

Fans of tasty chicken could well be spoilt for choice with a whopping 10 bold flavour profiles including hickory smoked BBQ, mango habanero and garlic parmesan.

The eatery with Texan origins has been delighting diners since 1994 and now enjoys presence across 70 locations across the country.

Over the past two years Derbion tenants have invested a combined £1.2m in refurbishments, with recent upgrades to Wagamama and Zizzi, and Chopstix reopening after a major refurbishment to enhance the dining experience.

Beth McDonald, managing director at Derbion said: “We are pleased to add Wingstop to our thriving F&B line-up, and we believe its offer will really resonate with our younger visitors.

“Through the additions of innovative and growing F&B brands like Wingstop, alongside the arrival of new leisure activities such as padel and skateboarding, we have created a destination where more people want to come and spend their free time, which in-turn allows our brands to thrive.”

Chris Sherriff, CEO at Wingstop UKI said: “Wingstop UKI has expanded significantly over the last year, and our new site in Derby will be a crucial continuation of that growth. We’re excited to bring our flavours to a new city and Derbion’s position as a key retail and leisure destination for the East Midlands makes it the perfect home. Thank you to our local community for the continued love and support.”
