Hi all, how are you doing? Storm Abigail is rocking into town, but apart from that, my weekend is pretty chilled out. If you want to do something cool, hop on over to the Heaton Fold garden centre this Sunday (November 15), where top local chef Alain Job will be joining the monthly artisan market, along with a host of traders.

The market is organised by Brian Hood, from Signature Soaps – a Bolton-based artisan producer of handmade soaps, in conjunction with the council.

Alain Job, owner of Cameroonian food stall Nkono in Bolton Market, will be performing cookery demos throughout the day. If you’ve ever been to any of his demos, you’re in for a treat. The larger than life character of Alain will thrill, entertain and provide soul food guaranteed to warm your cockles and heart.

Around 20 producers and suppliers will be selling high quality and locally sourced food, drink and crafts from 10am to 4pm. Goods on offer include handmade jams and chutneys; homemade pies and puddings; Mediterranean foods; Lancashire cheeses, and fresh fruit and vegetables along with bespoke home furnishings, crafts and jewellery.

Heaton Fold garden centre’s shop will also be open. A selection of Christmas trees will also be available for sale in the upcoming weeks, which can be stored free of charge until customers are ready to collect. How cool is that? For more information call 01204 336848.

Free parking is also available on site. For further information about the market or to enquire about joining future markets, contact Brian Hood, Signature Soaps, on 07888 845112 or e-mail [email protected].
