Tickets to see the celebrity chefs starring at Bolton Food and Drink Festival will go on sale tomorrow at 5pm (Friday, May 31).

The event, now in its 14th year is recognised as the biggest and best food festival in north, with more than 274,000 visitors last year. The festival also won ‘Best Market Attraction’ at the British Market of the Year awards earlier this year.

Celebrity chefs James Martin, Gregg Wallace and The Hairy Bikers will host a series of live demos and events, and tickets for some of their shows will go on sale first.

Tickets will be available from www.boltonfoodanddrinkfestival.com or www.quaytickets.com

Hairy Bikers Si King and Dave Myers will showcase recipes on Saturday (August 24) at two cookery demos at 10.30am and 3pm. Tickets are £15 (£10 children).

They will also be doing a special demo for adults only at 12.30pm with ploughman’s lunch and a tipple included. Tickets are £20.

On Sunday, Gregg Wallace will conduct three cookery demos, priced £10 (£8 children) at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm.

As well as demonstrating how to cook great food on a budget, Gregg will be joined by a special mystery guest for his lunchtime demo where guests will be treated to a fine-dining masterclass.

Festival favourite James Martin will be notching up his 11th annual appearance at Bolton Food and Drink Festival on Monday with three demos.

At 10.30am and 12.30pm guests can watch James’ demos complete with a hot drink and refreshments or enjoy a cream tea at the 2.30pm show.

Premium seats, guaranteeing a space at the first few rows of tables, are £18 (£10 children). Regular tickets priced at £15 and £7 for children.

Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr David Greenhalgh, said: “Bolton Food and Drink Festival is always a popular event.

“The celebrity chef demos usually sell out quickly, so we would advise people to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.”

Regional Managing Director at Aldi, Ruth Doyle, added: “This is our fifth year of supporting the Bolton Food and Drink Festival, and each year it gets bigger and better.

“Bolton Council has done a great job of organising the event and they have lots planned, from live entertainment to cookery demonstrations. Our local team will be there sharing award winning Aldi products for everyone to enjoy.”

Chef Michael Caines will launch the foodie event on Friday (August 23) before hosting a gala dinner the same night.

The festival will also feature a speciality food, drink and crafts market with more than 200 traders, live music, street performers, and a fantastic family zone.

Tickets for other special events including a comedy night, a gin and rum festival as well as masterclasses with some of the North West’s leading regional chefs will be released in early June.
