Hi all, how are you doing? It’s December eve and with Christmas around the corner, you’re probably thinking of Christmas gift shopping. Before you get bashed around the head by all things Christmas in the upcoming weeks and cower for cover as you quell your inner Grinch, fear not. Formulate a plan of attack, make a list of things to buy (trust me, a shopping list is the way to go) and drop into Derby’s Intu, who have a lovely selection of stores. For fuel, be sure to check out the latest addition to Derby Intu’s food-court (drum roll), Yo! Sushi.

The UK’s favourite Japanese restaurant group, YO! Sushi and 60 cover restaurant is inspired by urban Tokyo and features YO! Sushi’s iconic ‘kaiten’ conveyor belt which is perfect for a fast, fresh, fun dining experience. It’s great to pick and mix your lunch, becuase there are over 80 authentic hot and cold dishes on offer, in addition to a mouth-watering sushi selection including Tuna Tataki & Ponzu, Japanese Seabass Ceviche and the all new Blossom Rolls. You can also enjoy hot classics like the best-selling Chicken Katsu Curry, the PETA award winning Tofu Katsu Curry and Spicy Pepper Squid. For those extra hungry diners (raise your hands loud and proud), there is even a sumo-size option available on selected hot dishes.

So, who are those special cogs that make up the cool operation of Yo! Sushi? The core management team are made up of local community members and the kitchen is led by YO! Sushi head chef, Karen Cabajar, who has already been with the company for over three years. Alex Trott, the General Manager has grown up in Derby and been part of the YO! Sushi family for three years. The new restaurant has created over 30 new jobs in the local area.

Robin Rowland, Executive Chairman at YO! Sushi said: “Derby is our missing link in the Midlands which will be joining our longstanding Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham restaurants. Opening with a great senior management team from existing YO! Sushi’s, we are thrilled to turn on our conveyor belt in Derby, adding to the fantastic success we’ve had from our existing six restaurants in Intu centres.”

From our new winter warming, great value for money Sumo Bowls like our Beef Curry Ramen to traditional sushi and classics, Derby is in for a real treat.

See you there!
