This cocoa + blood orange seltzer was a nice change during another scorching day. Light citrus notes against slightly earthy cocoa bean backdrop.

The setting was a big win too, full air-conditioned chocolate café / coffee shop with an intriguing display packed with cocoa beans.

Is there a hard cheese you lovely lot can recommen Is there a hard cheese you lovely lot can recommend? I bought a tiny cheese curling wheel (girolle) contraption, research shows Tête de Moine to be the first choice, while other recommendations are Manchego.
Here's a lovely cheese photo to bring joy to your timeline.

Photo is a cheesy throwback to my last year's visit to Borough Market where Taste Of Croatia was one of my favourite stalls. I could happily spend hours, mooching around Borough Market (the knack is to wear comfy shoes, pack a tiny handbag and be prepared to face the crowds).

So yeah, hit me with your top cheese recs to use on a cheese curler. Or actually, any cheese that you are rating at the moment (just because it is nice to share the cheese love).

Love the raspberry drizzle, it reminds me of Mr Whippy ice creams (with Flake, always with Flake) I enjoyed when a child.

Hope your weekend is packed with good food, food books and good vibes.

Bundt, Earl Grey steeped cream, blended with Madagascan vanilla for Chantilly cream. Sponge topped with lemon crust icing found on lemon drizzle cake.
Recipe to go up shortly. In the meantime, I hope your weekend was restorative and filled with pretty things.

Normalise books in pubs. In my humble opinion, the Normalise books in pubs. In my humble opinion, they win hands down (pun intended) in comparison to phones.

I find books are a great way to minimise screen-time and the perf companion when you've got time to kill, when waiting for your drink.

This one's a highly abridged version of one of my favourite authors of all time.

Our Sherlock was a connoisseur of tasty tipples. Although his go-to beverages were French wine, whisky and spirits, he also partook in beer (A Scandal In Bohemia).

This here is a Double IPA (DIPA), my go-to beer style of the year.

I think if Sherlock was drinking opposite me, he'd approve of the hazy, juicy funk of a DIPA.

Suds & Soda, one of my favourite craft beer pubs in Derby, has a lovely, compact collection of books; after browsing their shelf during a recent visit, husband bought me the beer & tasting book which I couldn't stop leafing through (I am forever fascinated by food and drink matching).

I would love to know about any books / magazines / newsletters you're reading, any tips to minimise screen-time + digital detox and more.

Right, I'm putting my phone away now, hope you all have a tip top day. 🫶

What I have my eye on this week:

🍸 Artisan drinks from @thespiritrunderby in @derbymarkethall, looking forward to seeing Emily Rose shake things up on the spirit front.

📚 Inhaling current book club read, How To Read A Book by Monica Wood, it appears to be glued to my hand, it is so addictive.

🔪 Cooking with Miaoli Flower Petal Noodles, it's not an ingredient I have ever tasted before. Sourced from @souschefuk I am thinking going down the simple Thai red curry paste route.
