I know the weather is a bit of a wash out at the moment, but the wise weather bods are promising double digit temperatures next week. I’m a hopeful soul, and I’m crossing my fingers that those warmer temperatures will transpire.
If you want to get in the summery mood and prep your garden, you need to hop on over to Heaton Fold Garden Centre’s artisan market, that returns on Sunday, April 15. It’s bigger and better than ever, and the monthly market will feature more than 20 food, gift and handmade craft stalls.
It can be hungry work preparing, planning and picking up plants (I have my eye on herbs to grow indoors).
Which is why I’ll be appreciating the selection of food available, including chocolates, cakes, cheeses and award-winning pork pies. If you’re not a gardening person and craft is more your thing, then you can check out unusual crafts, artwork and jewellery.
Not to miss out the kids, tThere will also be sand art workshops for the children with kits to buy and take home.
When does it all kick off?
The market will be open from 10am to 3pm, at the garden centre on Overdale Drive, off Chorley New Road. Free parking is available too.
Colourful bedding plants, bulbs, pots and garden ornamentals are also now in stock at the garden centre and hanging baskets start from just £12, or people can bring in their own for refill.
The on-site café will be serving hot and cold drinks and snacks, and beer, wine and prosecco are also available.
For further information about the market, follow @HFArtisanMarket or contact Katherine Brookes at MWL Events via www.mwlevents.co.uk.
