Experiential Coffee Shop First Of Its Kind To Open In Manchester’s Northern Quarter

Seed & Cherry, a new artisanal coffee shop offering a range of carefully sourced, speciality grade coffee beans from across the world, is now open on Manchester’s Church Street.

Seed & Cherry is the first coffee shop of its kind in Manchester, with its concept designed to showcase the depth and personality each coffee bean has to offer.

Customers can explore multiple types of beans and a variety of flavour profiles to find the perfect brew for them.

Customers can select a different coffee bean every time they go to Seed & Cherry, with up to five types of beans on offer at any one time.

Seed & Cherry isn’t just for coffee connoisseurs though, the whole concept has been designed to introduce and engage all on how different beans create different flavour profiles, in a similar way to growing trends for specialty alcohols.

The speciality grade beans have been flown from destinations including Colombia, Rwanda, Brazil and Kenya, and ethically grown and processed with part of the proceeds going to support projects in the local communities.

Customers at Seed & Cherry can discover the stories behind each coffee bean, with each having a journey from seed to cup, through the planting, harvesting, roasting and rigorous quality and taste process.

Some of the coffee beans available include:

Colombia Las Brisas, a medium, syrupy bean tasting of red apple, brown sugar, orange and caramel;

Rwanda Twumba, a juicy, citric profile with a caramel texture and notes of dark chocolate; and

Brazil Fazenda Rainha da Paz, a heavy, rounded, creamy coffee with flavours predominantly of cacao and stonefruit with mild nutty notes.

Alongside the coffee offering customers will be treated to a wide range of fresh ‘tapas style’ food across the breakfast, lunch and light bites menu with health-focused and vegan options available.

Breakfast dishes include super berry acai bowls, brioche French toast, full English breakfast skewers and classic vegan pancakes.

Lunches and light bites include items such as beetroot and feta toasted sourdough, halloumi skewers, truffle fries and a variety of delicious, fresh salads.

Faizan Zaheer, co-founder of Seed & Cherry said: “Generally people have their ‘go-to’ drink in a bar and the learning the heritage and nuances of alcohol is becoming increasingly popular.

“Coffee beans are similar in that they all have their own flavour profiles. There is a bean for everyone’s preference, and we want to help bring this to the forefront.

“Customers will be able to learn, try and select their own coffee before having it crafted into their perfect drink.”

Seed & Cherry’s interiors will pay homage to the natural process of coffee-making. Combined raw materials of hessian and palette stained woods have created a flexible environment to transition from day to night.

Seed & Cherry are currently in the middle of their soft launch period featuring 50% off food until Friday 9th August.

From its educational and experiential concept to superb food and service, the venue aims to become an immediate go to venue with the people of Manchester.
