A new Time Out Market is coming to London, making it the first of its kind in the UK.
Time Out Market London will be located at 55 Regent Street, part of the West End’s iconic 10 Piccadilly development.
The Market will occupy 26,400 square feet across three floors, with a line-up of food and drink vendors to be announced closer to launch in 2028.
Ever since I visited Time Out Market Lisboa, I’ve been hoping something similar pops up in my home city of Derby. I loved the buzzy, bustling vibe where fruit and veg stalls sat snuggly next to food, drink and bakery kiosks. We spent the full afternoon in the market. We wandered through the aisles, gazing up at the sunlight streaming through the glass roof, enjoying the vibrant ambiance and taking in all the fragrant cooking smells and marvelling at fresh produce and eye-catching giant pumpkins.
What will Time Out Market London look like?
The London site aims to be a ‘cultural space in the heart of the city that brings the best of the city together under one roof’. Marketing assets have yet to be released, however, here is a video of Time Out Market Lisbon I shot in 2018 to give you a flavour of what Time Out London could look like.
I think we can expect an open plan, expansive footprint being home to an exciting mix of food and drink operators and markets.
Here are a few photos, you can see more of Time Out Market Lisbon over on my Instagram. I am due a return visit soon to beautiful Lisboa, but in the meantime, here are some snaps (plus video above) I took from 2018. Please be mindful that these snaps are eight years old, therefore market stalls / the interiors has no doubt undergone change.

As a keen cook who has food on the brain pretty much all day, every day, I hope a cooking school, similar to the Academia Time Out Lisbon, is factored into the London site plans.
The London location will join the innovative Time Out Markets’ stable which has 12 existing sites across the world including Bahrain, Barcelona, Budapest and Montréal.
It appears to be a busy time for the Time Out Group that will be boosting its portfolio with several additions in the coming years. The London market is one of four new openings gearing up for launch in Delhi, Abu Dhabi and São Paulo.
The Crown Estate is a long-term custodian of the West End. Its website says: ‘At 10 Piccadilly, The Crown Estate will deliver a 90,800 sq ft mixed-use development of the Grade II listed building which completes the iconic Regent Street curve. Facing on to Piccadilly Circus, 10 Piccadilly was the original Swan & Edgar department store, and then home to Tower Records in the 1980s. The refurbishment of the building will deliver a mix of uses, providing 62,700 sq ft of prime office space, alongside a 26,400 sq ft hospitality destination across the ground, basement and first floors, and a further 1,700 sq ft of retail space on Regent Street. Piercy&Co have been appointed as Architect for the 10 Piccadilly development, with Kier appointed as Main Contractor.’
