Hey guys,
Second post of the day I know, but I just had to hop on to tell you about an ab fab and very special celebrity afternoon tea served up by award winning pattisier Slattery. It’s on the menu for Bolton Food and Drink Festival and I cannot WAIT for it!
Celebrity chef and actress Lisa Faulkner, Great British Bake Off 2014 finalist Luis Troyano, and entrepreneurs Phil and Omar from BBC show Dragons’ Den will be hosting the teatime treat on Saturday, August 29. I personally cannot think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon, can you?
Tickets are £18 and in honour of the festival’s 10th birthday a special offer is available – book a table of 10 and get two seats free.
In her last appearance of the day at 3.30pm, the totally cool Lisa will perform a cookery demo in the festival marquee on Victoria Square, followed by a traditional afternoon tea served with a glass of prosecco provided by the festival’s main sponsors Aldi. ITV presenter Elaine Willcox will also host a question and answer session with the celebrity guests while the event is underway.
Bake extraordinaire Luis Troyano said: “I’m really looking forward to being part of team hosting the afternoon tea. With the Great British Bake Off back on our screens too, there’s bound to be lots to talk about. It’s sure to be a fun packed afternoon with some delicious teas, bakes and patisserie.”
Slattery, a family-run company, which was established in 1967, has a famous dining room and a cake shop in Whitefield. They will be providing a spread of sandwiches, scrumptious savouries and delicious cakes.
Guests can sip from a selection of teas courtesy of luxury tea brand Phom – the speciality tea company started by entrepreneurs Omar Farag and Philip Perera, who secured investment from Dragons’ Den’s Kelly Hoppen. Their tea is stocked in luxury department store Selfridges.
Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Cliff Morris, said: “The afternoon tea is one of the special events we’ve introduced for the festival’s 10th birthday celebrations and guests are in for a real treat.
“They’ll be able to watch a demo by a top chef, get tips from celebrities while enjoying a fantastic spread thanks to the hugely popular Slattery.”
Bolton Food and Drink Festival is organised by Bolton Council, in association with Aldi. The foodie spectacular takes place from August 28 to 31.
Tickets are available from www.boltonfoodanddrinkfestival.com, via the Octagon theatre box office on Howell Croft South or by calling 01204 520661. The box office is open 9am to 7pm Monday to Saturday.
To take advantage of the special afternoon tea offer – 10 seats for the price of eight – quote ‘FreeTeafor2’ when calling or visiting the box office. Please note the offer is not available online. A vegetarian option is also available.
I’ll be wearing my pretty frock for what will no doubt be a pretty afternoon tea. See you there?
