The Food Porn Awards are mixing it up this year and are calling on the general public to help crown the 2018 champion. For the first time, customers are being asked to cast their vote for the finest culinary creations from thirty carefully selected entries from fine and casual dining. The six entries with the highest number of votes will become finalists, recreating their dishes during a cook-off.  Voting opens from Monday 6th November to Monday 18th December.

Established in 2016, the Food Porn Awards aim to celebrate the best-looking food from across the North, with chefs encouraged to enter images of their most mouth-watering dishes in order to win the coveted 2018 award.

This year sees restaurants from the North West, North East, Cumbria and Yorkshire such as The Flixton, Wood Manchester, The Alchemist and Menagerie Restaurant and Bar, in the shortlist. STM Photography, the curators of the Food Porn Awards, will work alongside the chefs to capture their signature dish before the final entries are revealed and the panel of judges make their final decision. This year’s winner will be announced at the Food Porn Awards exhibition at the Northern Restaurant and Bar Show in March 2018.
“Completely free to enter, the Food Porn Awards enables restaurants and bars across the region to showcase their culinary talent and work with the talented team of award partners, specialists in food and drink imagery, video, social media and PR. The North is renowned as a foodie hotspot and we’re excited to be a part of this celebration of good food.” Says Phil Marshall, Managing Director of Shoot the Moon; the organisers of the awards.
“Opening the awards to public vote adds a new dimension to the competition and gives restaurants the opportunity to engage with people in the community who share an interest in the regional food scene, showcasing what the North really has to offer.
