If you love gin and tonic, then you you’ll be excited by this exciting event. Tomorrow (Saturday 23 June), The Wine Drinker will be attempting to achieve a new Guinness World Records title, with a fun twist – to make the largest alcoholic mixed drink in the world.

A gin and tonic – a whopping 739 litres of it – will be made using 200 bottles of WildJune gin from West Texas.

WildJune gin is making its first appearance in the UK, and the flavour profile is berry-tastic, being made with wild red-berry juniper hand-picked by the founder Molly Cummings.

Molly’s work is unique, in that she is the only juniper forager based in Texas who is creating commercially sold gin.

Urban Food Fest will be playing host to the exciting attempt, with the event timed for 4pm at Euro Car Parks, Shoreditch High Street.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be present, along with an expert in volume measurement to authenticate the challenge.

I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled and sharing news of this hopefully successful attempt on social media tomorrow afternoon, so do follow me on Twitter so to keep tabs on this gin-tastic news story.
